Brilliant, misunderstood, mysterious and mythic. Moving through this world with bravery and a straightforward acceptance of his surroundings; simultaneously straddling between the world of man and the realm of the spirit. Meet “Corvus.”

Fancy words aside, ravens and crows are such incredible beings on this earth. Scientists are just scratching the surface in unlocking the mysteries of their minds and abilities. Sharing the world with them is an honor.

Something is amiss in this field in the heartland. There are those who thought it was time for a change.

Just a little spooky something for the end of October.

“Dark Longing”

So I LOVE crows and ravens. Forget the stereotype of being a harbinger of bad luck or doom. They are extremely intelligent beings and I think they are even more sentient than we know. Have you ever listened to crows communicating back and forth? If you live in a rural area as I do, its a very common occurrence, especially in the morning. It’s fascinating. You can tell there is a very complex and real conversation occurring. There’s so much we don’t know about the other inhabitants of our planet.

Keeping with a Halloween theme, here is my “Dark Longing” print. I adore how this turned out. It’s so gothic and romantic. I’m a Jane Eyre fan so gothic romance is one of my favorite reads. Of course this being the Halloween season, it can take on a creepy air, I guess. Whichever way you see it, her dignity can’t be ignored!

“Wild Duck”

He’s the one. He’s the one they all try to be. The suit; the cigarette; the casual nonchalance…What they don’t understand is you can’t copy this original. He’s the “Wild Duck.”

My first  blog post on my new blog. It’s a big deal, right? I have a store called Watchful Crow Arts on the fabulous Etsy. If you haven’t heard of Etsy you must head on over there. Artisans from all over the world create the most incredible products.

My store sells art prints of my whimsical anthropomorphic creatures. Sort of human. Sort of animal, bird or reptile. A new creation!
